Made for children, answerable to parents

We make the apps we want for our own children. Here is what that means, plainly.

Calm by design

Little apps have no stars, points, streaks, badges, timers or daily rewards. Nothing flashes and nothing hurries your child. A correct answer gets a small, quiet response; a wrong one gets a gentle second try.

Every Discover session is short: four activities for a one-year-old, up to seven for a five-year-old. Then it ends with “all done”. It does not suggest another round.

No ads, no subscriptions, nothing to buy inside

You buy each app once in the App Store or Google Play. Little Discover will cost €6.99 when it launches. Future content is included. There are no ads, no subscriptions and no in-app purchases, so your child is never asked to buy anything.

When more apps are out, a Little Everything bundle with all five apps is planned for €24.99. With Apple Family Sharing, one purchase covers your family.

Private by default

Children have profiles, not accounts. A profile is a nickname, an age, an animal symbol and a language, stored on your device. We do not collect it, and the apps contain no analytics, advertising or tracking code. They do not ask for the microphone, camera, location or contacts.

See the privacy policy for the details.

Screen time for the youngest

Health organisations such as the World Health Organization advise little or no screen time for children under two, and no more than an hour a day for ages two to four. We agree, and we built Discover for short moments, ideally together with a grown-up.

For a one-year-old, Discover is something to share on your lap: tap the cow, hear “cow” and a real moo, say it together. Four activities and it is done. As children grow, they can play a short session on their own. Little Explorer, coming later, is built to send children away from the screen altogether.

Made for children who cannot read yet

Every instruction, question and answer is spoken. If a child cannot read the screen, they can still use the app completely. A sound button repeats the question as often as needed.

Your language, written by people who speak it

Discover speaks English and Dutch. Each language is written natively rather than translated word for word: a Dutch dog says “waf”, not “woof”. More languages, starting with German, French, Spanish and Italian, are planned.

Grown-up settings stay with grown-ups

Settings, profiles and family changes sit behind a gate you press and hold for three seconds. There are no links out of the app in the play screens.
